Old Wesley Junior Rugby ended its season in style with a highly enjoyable tour to La Rochelle in France. The tour included a match against local side Aytre. 29 players and alickadoos travelled, including our current Presidential team.
In the game the two sides were evenly matched with the home side winning 22-15. Our try scorers were Eamon Healy, Mark Braithwaite and Eric Parfrey; best not to to mention the conversion attempts. To be fair, Old Wesley were somewhat handicapped as they had only 15 active players, together with 2 retired players, compared to the opposition’s 20 players.
The match was followed by a barbecue and refreshments and the odd party game. The tour also included a boat trip and the first ever Old Wesley Open Crazy Golf Competition.
Well done to Tour Captain Fergus Noonan, and to the tour organisers Wayne Sheridan and Tom O’Brien.
